Reading Plus® provides two unique assessment tools that can be used for placement within the Reading Plus® instructional programs in addition to providing ongoing assessment of student progress during their instructional course work.

Adaptive Silent Reading Fluency Assessment
The initial placement test of Reading Plus® (RPA™: Reading Placement Appraisal) is designed to assess students’ independent silent reading ability by dynamically adjusting the rate of presentation of varying leveled text selections while assessing comprehension skills.  This assessment quickly and accurately determines each student’s

  • Independent reading rate
  • Vocabulary readiness level
  • Appropriate instruction path and starting level.

Visagraph® Silent Reading Assessment
Visagraph® provides detailed measures of each student’s silent reading behavior in comparison to grade-appropriate normative data. Visagraph® offers clear and accurate measures of the response to Reading Plus® intervention over the course of implementation.

Data collected with Visagraph® provides unique insight into a student’s silent reading behavior, revealing what may be hindering independent reading development.
