Reading Plus® develops and enhances the skills necessary for proficient comprehension-based silent reading - the kind of reading required in the 21st century classroom and workplace.

Students enrolled in award-winning Reading Plus® learn to read faster and understand more about what they are reading, fundamental objectives of the Common Core State Standards. Through individualized instruction, the program builds reading rate, comprehension, and capacity, the key ingredients for success in college and careers.

The program’s powerful research-based technology delivers fast, effective results. Struggling readers progress to proficiency in as little as 15 weeks, gaining up to 3.5 years of reading ability.

Reading Plus® supports the CCSS approach to text complexity by providing students with carefully leveled selections that steadily increase in readability, topic complexity, and word count. Selections are crafted to offer both reluctant and accomplished readers engaging texts. Reading Plus® content represents a cross-section of literary genres and a full spectrum of informational topics that align with grade curriculum and support CCSS recommendations.

The program aligns with the College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards for Reading by providing extensive, scaffolded experience with 25 essential reading skills, research-based comprehension questions, offline worksheets for additional skill practice, and writing exercises that foster independent thinking and effective communication.
