PROGRAM DIRECTORS/ADMINISTRATORS:
"Rule ISD has used Taylor Associates Communications' reading programs for the past five years. The story selections hold student interest, students' reading rates are increased and the students like beginning at their independent reading levels and enjoy the reduced stress of working at their own pace. Rule ISD received a commendation from the state of Texas stating that 65 percent or more of our Title I students participating in the program passed the reading section of the TAAS test. This can be linked directly to the addition of Taylor Associates' programs to our curriculum."

"I wanted to write and let you know of our pleasure over our recent purchase and use of READING PLUS and VISAGRAPH.
During my fourteen years as a middle school principal, I have constantly searched for a diagnostic and prescriptive reading program. Until you shared the Reading Plus 2000 with us, I had not seen a comprehensive program that really made a difference.
We began using the Reading Plus program in January with all of our students who scored below grade level on last year's EOG Reading Test. The students have responded in a most positive manner. Teacher are excited about their student's response to the program. Most students have shown grade level improvement after a few short weeks of using the program. Their enthusiasm for using the program for 90 minutes each week has been great. The individualized nature of the program allows students to proceed at their own pace and the components built in to the program provide sustained motivation and immediate feedback.
We would invite other schools to visit us and see this program in action. It is our expectation that all students will succeed using this program."

"This school year begins the third year of using Reading Plus in my remedial reading classes. The successes that we have encountered have been many. First, the Visagraph is the best diagnostic tool that a reading teacher could ever dream of using. Before I had this tool, I would diligently work to try to figure out why a very bright child could not read. Much of this was done by trial and error. With the Visagraph I can now determine where a child's eyes move while reading, how many times a child regresses and fixates, whether a child's eyes are working together, how many letters are being viewed at one time, and whether a child is comprehending what is read. This helps me get a very good sense of direction to help a child in trouble which leads me to the many programs of Reading Plus. PAVE has some unique features that have been overlooked while teaching the average child. We assume that a child is able to track and has developed the eye muscles needed to maintain tracking. PAVE works on these skills in a way that the children consider being a game. They are very anxious to work on "Building Eye Muscles"! We also use Guided Reading, CLOZE-PLUS, and Comprehension Power with second through fourth graders every other day in my remedial class. Last year I had a 65% promote out rate in just one year of using Reading Plus.
This year I have been able to expand my program to include all second and third grade students once a week. Our top readers in the fourth grade have been chosen to work on advancing their reading skills at least once a week as well. We have also been chosen to participate in a Pilot Program where our students who have Internet connections at home can utilize PAVE and Guided Reading on a daily basis using their home computers. We are very excited about this opportunity. "
"As a reading specialist I consider Reading Plus the best part of my remedial program and would highly recommend it."

"I just wanted to take a moment to share with you the excitement we are experiencing in our two elementary schools at Brownsboro ISD. The purchase of your VISAGRAPH Eye-Movement System by our district has enabled us to test the reading performances of our Chapter I students. For the first time we feel comfortable with our reading appraisals. After using the VISAGRAPH and TA's fluency training, I'm proud to report that both Elementary schools received Academic Recognition from the Texas Educations Agency, and also received the Texas Successful School Award thanks to every Chapter I Reading student passing the reading portion of the TAAS test."

TEACHERS:
"For three years I have used Taylor's Reading Plus program in a class for at-risk students. It has been wonderful to have a program that not only holds students' interest but also helps them succeed. Watching students' grades improve while student confidence takes off is great!"

"We have seen pronounced improvement in the reading skills of students enrolled in our READING PLUS Improvement classes. Students enrolled in Taylor Associates READING PLUS system who were considered to be at-risk of failing the exit level TAAS (Texas Assessment of Academic Skills) passed after being in our Reading Improvement class using READING PLUS. Sixty percent of our special education students gained an average of one grade level in reading comprehension. Eighty of these students gained 1.5 grade levels in vocabulary."
Tom Jarrett, Reading Improvement Teacher
Itasca High School, Itasca, TX
"The Jonesboro Adult Learning Center used the READING PLUS system with students placed by the TABE test at reading levels 1.0-9.0. In one semester the average level of increase in the TABE test using Reading Plus was two grade levels. Guided Reading was especially effective with adult students that were reading too slow and needed to comprehend better to prepare for the GED test."

"Students who had severe reading deficiencies were placed in a Parent Reading Partners Program which had been funded by a grant from the Texas Education Agency. After two hour weekly sessions for eight months, Taylor Associates' Post-test showed that over 70 percent of the students enrolled in the program showed a growth of two or more grade levels in their reading scores. These same students showed significant gains in the passing rate on the Math and Reading portions of the TAAS test. We feel the success of the reading program is directly linked to the instructional quality of Taylor Associates' reading software. We would highly recommend the use of this software."

"We are delighted with the VISAGRAPH and READING PLUS. All of my students have been tested with the VISAGRAH and RPA and are currently using PAVE and Guided Reading on a regular basis. We are seeing students experiencing success and feeling pride in their accomplishments! I find all of the programs to be teacher- and user-friendly. I am looking forward to reporting gains for my students at the end of this school year!"

"The program is an excellent tool to increase reading efficiency and we only started with a few students, but did see some dramatic results. We will continue implementation next fall and expand use of the VISAGRAPH and READING PLUS software. The students enjoyed it and the teachers realized the value of the VISAGRAPH."
Beverly Daglis, Title-I Teacher
Pine Street Elementary, Conyers, GA
"We have seen some great improvements from our students by utilizing Taylor Associates programs on a regular basis. The VISAGRAPH continues to be a great resource for our students. The reading teachers recommend students whom they feel may have a need to be visagraphed. After making a diagnosis, some of these students are placed in the READING PLUS program and again are making good progress in their reading abilities. READING PLUS and the VISAGRAPH continue to be very successful tools for teaching children at Eastwood Middle School."
